Merrick Bank - Won't waive fees charged due to their own mistakes
I was a great customer. I always paid IN FULL and on time through the mail.
The mail being slow caused my payment to be late one time. I talked to a representative and she told me that because it was the only time a payment was late from me that she would waive the fee and recalculated my bill for me minus the late fee. I then mailed a full payment that should have rendered me a zero balance. The representative didn't know what she was doing and never deleted the fee.
I was then charged interest on the late fee that was supposed to be waived. I called again, the company said they would take care of it but I then received another bill for late fee plus interest and when I called again they refused to wave it. I called again and the representative acted annoyed and offered to tale my payment and cancel my card.
This company is willing to lose an ideal customer over $2.12 + $1 fee (unexplained) for a total of $3.12. They will nickel and dime you and don't care about keeping your business.
